Last week, from 9 to 11 March, X Infotech Africa Managing Director Aleksey Kornejev had the privilege of participating in the 2nd Nordic-Baltic and Rwanda Economic Forum in Rwanda – a gathering that reinforced just how much momentum is building around Africa-Europe collaboration.
Key highlights from Aleksey:
– B2B meetings with private sector companies – exploring concrete pathways for technology-driven economic growth and digital infrastructure partnerships in Rwanda.
– Institutional meetings with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) – aligning on digital transformation priorities and understanding Rwanda’s national agenda for technology investment.
– Discussions with Latvian representatives and the Honorary council—strengthening Atlantic-African business bridges and identifying shared opportunities in fintech, digital identity, and payments infrastructure.
Contribution to a panel discussion on the latest AI developments – sharing practical perspectives on how AI is reshaping financial services, digital ecosystems, and infrastructure in emerging markets.
Key takeaway:
The appetite for partnership is real, the regulatory environment in Rwanda is business-friendly, and the convergence of Nordic-Baltic tech expertise with East African market dynamics creates a genuinely compelling opportunity.
The 2nd Rwanda Nordic–Baltic Forum was organised by the Latvian American Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Embassy of Rwanda, represented by H.E. lambert dushimimana, together with Chantal Dusaidi, Communications, Trade and Investment Specialist at the Embassy of Rwanda to the Nordics in Sweden, and Lydie Hakizimana, Honorary Consul of Latvia in Rwanda.
